Welcome to the home of Windfoil New Zealand

In 2017 a small group of keen windsurfers took up windfoiling - their friends tried it and they too became addicted to the feeling of flying across the water - a little bit of racing started at the Wakatere Boating Club and from this small fleet flying around, the New Zealand Windfoil Racing series was created. It's grown from event to event, with 50 competitors at the first New Zealand Windfoiling Championships at the Manly Sailing Club in 2019. It's not all about serious racing here - enjoy our links from learn to windfoil, club coaching, club racing, fun days and where to buy. We will add more content as we continue to grow.

SAIL NUMBERS

Sail Numbers

When you are racing you are required to display your name and sail number clearly for the race officials.

In June 2020 Windfoil NZ voted to adopt our own sail number registration system.  When you join Windfoil NZ you select a sail number from those available on the register. This will be your sail identification number for as long as you are a member of Windfoil NZ, after which it will return to the number pool.

WFNZ reserves NZL1as an option for the top women and men based on National and International championship results

We are lucky at Windfoil New Zealand to have our own personal artist, designer and printer.  Raymond Te Reo, our  fellow windfoiler, has created the stunning Windfoil NZ logo, designed and built the NZ Windfoil Championship trophies and has designed and printed names and numbers on 99% of our race sails. Email Raymond directly and he will get you looking sharp on the water. Please don’t hesitate to touch base with Raymond for any of your professional artistic or printing project
